Freight Rate Specialist, GS-2131-07

This role is responsible for consolidating freight shipments for both specific consignees and distribution points for transportation economy and efficiency. Being a Coast Guard civilian makes you a valuable member of the Coast Guard team. Typical work assignments include:
- Rating and and routing small parcels and freight shipments using specific established guidelines.- Preparing and using various shipping documents to effect and manifest non-standard shipments.- Independently planning and effecting the movement of general stores, ship parts, hazardous materials, and aids to navigation aids & infrastructure. - Advising personnel in shipping, purchasing, and other offices within the agency as to appropriate freight classifications involving questionable, borderline, and alternative classifications. At the GS-7 Level:
Applicants should have at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-6 level in the Federal service. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work. Examples include:
Determining most efficient and economical rates and routes for the movement of freight; Performing the General Accounting Office post-audit and examination, determining the most economical legal and lawful rates and routes for the movement of freight; and Preauditing freight bills. National Service Experience (i.e., volunteer experience):

If you are currently, or have been within the last 5 years, a political Schedule A, Schedule, C, Non-career SES or Presidential Appointee employee in the Executive Branch, you must disclose this information to the Human Resources Office.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
